She Hiccups When She Laughs

Our Little Lu in going to be 5 months in two days! She is so much fun. Full of so many expression and it is getting easy to make her laugh. Every time she starts to make a belly laugh though, she always gets the hiccups. In our house we like to call them the "mean-cups" because they make her chest go crazy and they are loud! (Aaron calls them a large vagal response creating a diaphramatic spasm). Lu's new hobby is making spitting raspberries. She is enjoying the jumper and the excersaucer more and more, since she is taller and get almost all the toys in her mouth. She loves eating her solids during the day and is still eating a lot from mom in the middle of the night (we need to start working on this one). She loved avacodos for about a week but now if you give a her a bite she will not close her mouth in fear of tasting them and then tries to fake cough the food out of her mouth. She still like her sweet potatoes, bananas and rice cereal. She also tried oatmeal for the first time today and it seemed to be a hit, but then again so did the avocados day one! Another first that happened today during nap time, is sleeping on her tummy. She rolls a lot in her sleep. She looks like a little "L" with her legs up rolling from side to side to get comfortable. Today that roll took her all the way around. Lastly, of course she still loves the tongue, but has also found a new sucking aide...her toes!!!

Better Late then Never...4 months

Dr. Endo, the doctor that "almost" delivered Luella, suggested that I take a picture with her with the same stuffed animal each month to see how she grows. Here is her 4 month shot! Gotta love the little thigh checks and the awesome socks from Aunt Becky! Below are the first 3 months for comparison.

Yummy, Squavocados...

Luella got to eat squavocados (that is squished avocados) for the first time on 2/13. All I can say if that she absolutely LOVES them. In fact she really loves all solid food (even though she has only has two, ha ha!). She gets so excited to eat. She is turning into such a big girl. She is very mobile in the ways of rolling, shooting, and army crawling. She is VERY close to sitting up...She can do it, just have found the need to yet. She loves her exersaucer and recently just discovered the jumper. She is a very active little girl and also very noisy. She want to know what is going on at all times and if you are new person at our house she will start at you for about 15 minutes to take you all in! Most of all she is still full of smiles and such a happy little one!

Photos, Photos always lots-o-Photos

Lu, Poppa and I had a little photo shoot this morning. It was real fun. Here are some random shots using different cameras and different lens. What kind...idk?

Oh she is so much fun. I start work on Monday and I reflect about my time at home with her, it has been up there, if not the best time of my life. So here goes my stream of consciousness. I get so excited about little things...little coo's and big ones...she often seems to tell us off. She discovered the faucet of water during bath time with her toes. She like to violently eat EVERYTHING...what is funny is she usually grabs for something, thinks it is in her hands and then wonders why it didn't make it in her mouth. She started and stopped sucking her thumb. She has started the inch worm but gets frustrated to easily that she is not all the way crawling and just flips back over on to her back. She is quite the perfectionist and wants her body to do way more then it can. She LOVES rice cereal and is doing quite well with the spoon. Nursing time has become social hour and she stops for a chat with me mid meal. I also think it is funny the she tries to eat and chew on her thumb at the same time. She is still waking up 2 times a night. She is a hungry little girl but on the same note I have always been a hungry little mamma! She still loves watching tv. She loves it when her clothes are off. She has mastered the club and smack me, poppa and often herself in the face. She went in the stroller facing forward for the first time and I never heard of peep out of her. She intently stares at new people she meets as if she is not only learning there face but somehow looking into her soul. She has so many different expressions and finally smelly feet like her dad...ewww!

Yummy

She is starting to like her rice cereal. Showing no signs of longer sleep at night from it but we have a blast feeding her and dancing for her while she eats. We get lots of smiles!

The ExerSaucer

Meet the many faces of the Exersaucer...we can't spend too much time in it because she get to frustrated that she can not make everything work the way she wants, as well as, she cannot seem to fit all parts in her mouth. I often have to hide it under a blanket or take it out of the room all together because she will bark to get in it and then once it in yelp with frustration. Her favorite right part of it right now is the snail and she likes to try to eat the lady bugs on the fabric of the seat. This week she got her first cold. It has made for an interesting week of sleep for all of us as she gets snotty and congested and has a hard time breathing. She is already turning into such a big girl and she is only 3 months. She is definately learning how to work her momma. Nap time is still a pain. She has stopped sucking her thumb, as she is not going to let something so simple trick her into sleeping. She gets real mad she can't crawl yet which makes tummy time interesting. She is still doing "v" ups at all times. If you copy all the moves she does while she is laying down you can get a killer ab workout!!!

Silly Girl

So Luella found her speaking voice today. Sometimes it is hard to tell if she is upset or not, but no, it's just her new voice. She also likes to fake cough to get our attention, especially when she is hungry in the middle of the night. Speaking of the middle of the night, we are transitioning to the crib this week...no more family bed. I already miss it, but I know that it is best for all of us down the road. Also, she is mastering the grab. We set up the exersaucer and let her go at it for a very little time. She loves it but doesn't quite seem ready for any long period of time. If I hold her close to it, she grunts to let me know it's time to play. Maybe all this grunting is why when we go out all the old ladies think she is a boy. One little girl can only where so much pink.

Happy 3 Months

She is rolling, we are talking 360's! Sucking her thumb to put herself to sleep, and laughing more and more everyday. Oh yeah, and...she finally took the bottle today. Happy Happy to Momma!!!!

Happy New Year

My year in review...hmm I am sure there is a variety of good that happened this year, but my heart it full with having a little baby. I love my life and my family, I am hoping that this high stays through 2010. Happy new year to all, I hope that ours is full of love!

The Nice List

Mornings with Momma & Poppa

It is now Christmas break and Lu get's her Momma and her Poppa home with her for two weeks. Family mornings with the baby are the best. She is full of smiles when she wakes, shortly follow by a morning blowout...Let's just say she is very regular! Today Luella rolled over for the first time, on the bed, from her back to her tummy...oh no, now we really got to watch her. She also recently decied that nap time is just a little bit more comfortable out of momma's arms and in bed *bitter sweet*. With the recent roll over the video monitor is now become a must!

Poppa and Lu

Lu Loves her Poppa and her Poppa Loves Lu. He made her laugh for the first time yesterday. It was such a great moment and feel so blessed that we were both there to experience it...of course we both cried! He gives her a million kisses a day! We aren't too sure by the faces she makes if she is a big fan of all the kisses, but she must learn to love them...cause poppa isn't going to stop anytime soon!

Little Miss Exercise

Well it is to no surprise that Lu just wants to workout all day. Of course that is what the parents call it. She is only happy if doing a constant "V-up", tummy time, trying to grab feet (but makes an awkward face doing so *see below*), or going from lying down to sitting to stand while holding onto momma's hands....is this normal, because it seems a little OCD to me. Oh wait, look who it talking!!! Other that that she is definately starting to change her patterns, with thing like eating quicker and thinking that the new 5:45 am wkae up call is better the then previous 6:45 (which the parents liked better). She still won't take a bottle, but maybe that will be momma's out to stay home longer *wishful thinking*. She still grunts, farts, and poops like a man, but coughs and sneezes like a little lady (these are very cute)!
